Actions speak louder than words, the old trope goes.

Some actions are audible.

Like a sigh.

Life is lived through volumes of sighs.

Of contentment,

of joy,

of pain.

Of boredom.

A sigh can be voluntary

or not.

It can be a cry for help

or the sigher can pray it goes unnoticed.

Some sighs escape without our knowledge

or despite our efforts to conceal our emotions.

Though sighs are often soft,

especially when compared to words,

they can be telling.
