The Outlet
I’ve been seeing lots of posts about NAPOWRIMO (National Poetry Writing Month). Though my last few monthly challenges have note gone well, (I don’t know if I’ve EVER completed one) I do want to recognize April as National Poetry month.
I mentioned yesterday that I’ve been going through old writings. I found a bunch of poems that never made it to my computer. The following is from a college poetry class, about an object in the room (I chose the wall outlet).I sit
invisible
on the wall,
unnoticed until needed
watching with slotted eyes.
I take note of every action;
You’re more honest when alone
but if you knew I was watching,
would you be afraid?
You believe I am powerless
unless you make me otherwise
but quite the opposite is true.
